Committee & Leaders

We are a community of people who are committed to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grown in their faith.

Young Life aims to establish and maintain a presence at all high schools and middle schools in the local area.

Young Life is making a difference in kids' lives. Leaders are entering the world of kids, meeting them right where they are, and loving them unconditionally.  Leaders are helping kids experience and understand the Gospel...and they are having a lot of fun in the process.  They are helping kids make educated decisions where matters of faith are concerned, and walking with them through life, no matter which path they choose.

Volunteer Leaders

What Makes a Good Young Life Leader?
Volunteer leaders can come from a variety of backgrounds; moms and dads, college students, working professionals or retirees.  Any adult who loves Christ and loves teenagers could make a great Young Life leader.  The diversity of our team of leaders helps us make an eternal impact in the lives of all kinds of kids.
When you're a leader, you are not alone. New leaders are welcomed into a dynamic community of staff, fellow leaders and committee. Leaders are well-trained and equipped for the task.  It's not uncommon for leaders to say that they get more out of being a leader than what they give.

The Heartbeat of the Mission
Volunteer leaders are the heartbeat of the Young Life mission.  Leaders are on the front lines, spending time on school campuses, running "Club" outreach events, leading "Campaigner" Bible study groups, sharing camp experiences with kids and sharing the joy and heartache of life with teenage friends.  We could never hire enough staff to reach all the kids in Eugene who do not yet know Christ...but with volunteer leaders, the possibilities are endless.
Getting Involved
Eugene Young Life is always accepting applications for volunteer leaders to serve on our high school (Young Life) and middle school (WyldLife) teams.  Please prayerfully consider whether or not God is calling you to join this mission community as a volunteer leader.  If you want to find out more, or you are ready to apply, contact the Eugene Young Life Office at (541)342-7513 or

Local Area Board Members

What is the local area board?
Each local area has a dedicated group of adults who believe in the mission of Young Life. You'll find adults from all different backgrounds, careers and churches, including lots of moms and dads who care about kids.  We also welcome the involvement of civic leaders and adult Young Life alumni, whose enthusiasm about their Young Life experience is valuable to a local area board.
The local board provides a foundation of financial, administrative, practical and moral support for the local Young Life team.
In Eugene, we have specific sub-committees which focus on fundraising, event planning and prayer, to name a few.  If you have gifts, talents or passion that would be valuable to one of these teams, please consider serving with us.
Ask your area staff person or contact the YL office for a list of local committee members, and feel free to call these folks with your questions at any time.
An Essential Foundation
The area board is the foundation for Young Life in a local area. Oftentimes, new Young Life clubs start because of the interest and awareness created by this group of adults.
